About the Art Alchemist

Hey, I'm JQ! There's so much to say. Where do I begin?

I'd like to say that this is, essentially, the the third version of me - preceded by the first version, I like to describe as "doing what I was programmed", and the second version who was on the path of "authentic self discovery & growth". This current version is devoted to settling into my soul-aligned self and living a life of purpose, authentic connection, curating my inner power, and being in flow. As this version of me, I desire to live authentically and powerfully; becoming an inspiration to anyone I cross paths with, to do the same in their life! My desire and intention is to be a heart-centered, present person and mom, and to be self-expressed as an ARTIST, as well as, to evolve myself and others through ART AS ALCHEMY.

Over the years, the prior versions of me prioritized other people's opinions as more important than my own. I had mastered people-pleasing, giving my power away, and self abandonment - all the while thinking that I'd somehow find fulfillment and happiness in creating a version of me that others would love.

Boy, was I wrong.

The huge shift happened when a "lifequake" hit, and everything started falling apart. (But, don't worry because that was necessary in order for me to start fresh.) I embarked on a soul-searching, rebirth adventure, living in Italy and discovering who I am, on all levels. Subsequently, in the years after coming back home to the U.S., I started rebuilding an entirely new life. Now, knowing that I wanted my life to have more impact, I became certified in empowerment coaching and built my own business. After becoming a stay-at-home mom, for the first 5 years of my son's life, I now feel an even stronger sense of excitement and eagerness for living powerfully; unafraid and confident. And I want everyone to have that kind of passion for themselves and their life!

This new stage is going to be awesome! I am committed to being a stand for evolution, inner power, and fulfillment, using my creativity and passion for alchemy, science, and spirituality.

I'm mostly self-taught (with the exception of one semester in College), and I have focused primarily on realism. In the last few years, I've started to stretch myself by painting abstract and using mixed media.
