JQ (Jennifer Querques) Cervantes is a self-taught painter from California, now based in St. Charles, IL. She is a commissioned artist whose realism and abstract series have been showcased in galleries in California and Illinois.

Working in oil, acrylic, and mixed media, she approaches each piece as an act of self-discovery and transformation. She intends for her artwork to explore aspects of the human experience and empowerment; capturing richness, depth, peace, and curiosity.

Through her business, Art as Alchemy, she combines art, neuroscience, psychology, and coaching to help people use artistic expression as a catalyst for personal empowerment.

JQ started out painting primarily in the style of realism. In the last few years, she has incorporated more abstract and mixed media styles to explore what feels like a signature style.
